Energy Star Is a Sign of Efficiency

What's the best way to identify an energy-efficient air conditioner or heat pump? Just look for the Energy Star logo. If a unit carries this symbol it means that it's at least 20 percent more efficient than the federal government's current minimum efficiency standard. American Standard's air conditioners and heat pumps with a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 12 or higher qualify for the Energy Star label. SEER is a measure of a unit's cooling efficiency. The higher the SEER, the higher the efficiency. The higher the efficiency, the greater the potential for lower energy bills, which means your cooling system will be less costly to operate over time.
The Energy Star program was developed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a way of promoting more energy-efficient air conditioners and heat pumps in order to reduce the nation's energy consumption. Many utility companies and financial institutions offer local incentives to support the purchase of Energy Star products. Be sure to ask your American Standard dealer for more details.
Exclusive Comfort-R™ enhanced cooling/dehumidification mode
Set by the installer, Comfort-RTM is a method of ramping up airflow so it gets cooler faster, which means your comfort is attained much sooner.
During Cooling, air moves over the coil more slowly at start-up. This allows the coil to rapidly cool down, resulting in increased moisture removal. This managed cycle of cooling reduces temperature variance and increases dehumidification.

The Allegiance 16 gives you a higher level of efficiency than most single compressor air conditioners, becuase it uses a two-step scroll compressor. A two-step compressor runs on first stage the majority of the time, and moves to the second stage on the hottest of days.
